Donate instead of throwing away: Freelander’s collects 250 pairs of shoes for the Stëmm

On the initiative of Alex Kapp, director and founder of Freelander’s Group Luxembourg, the Stëmm vun der Strooss association has received a generous donation of 250 pairs of outdoor and running shoes. The group’s various sales outlets, including Freelander’s Mersch, Sportfashion Belle Étoile, Outdoor & Adventure Belle Étoile, Jack Wolfskin Concorde, Belle Étoile and Massen, offered each customer who returned an old pair of shoes a voucher worth €10, valid for the purchase of a new pair of outdoor or running shoes.

This charity action took place on the weekend of 9 to 11 July 2021. The collected shoes were handed over to the representatives of Stëmm vun der Strooss at the Concept Store by Freelander’s outlet in Mersch on Wednesday 21 July.

With a very effective communication around the campaign by Freelander’s, thanks especially to Jérémie Heriaut, marketing and communication officer at Freelander’s, and the good reputation as a sports goods retailer in the Grand Duchy, this collection campaign was a real success, which the Stëmm vun der Strooss is very happy about. The 250 pairs of shoes from all the well-known sports goods manufacturers are still in perfect condition.

The association is proud to be able to count on such generous support from Freelander’s. The collected shoes will certainly bring a lot of joy to the Stëmm beneficiaries who visit the Kleederstuff in Esch-sur-Alzette and in Hollerich. The Kleederstuff is one of the Stëmm’s workshops for professional reintegration, where 10 people work. They sort and wash the clothes they receive and then redistribute them to those in need.

Jérémie Heriaud even mentioned to Bob Ritz, the Stëmm’s communications officer, the idea of holding a similar collection in the future in favour of the association, which proves the social commitment of Freelander’s Group Luxembourg. Finally, the Stëmm vun der Strooss would like to thank Freelander’s and, of course, all the people who participated in this generous action.
