EY Luxembourg supports the Strooss tribe during the Covid-19 pandemic
During the Covid-19 crisis, EY Luxembourg showed solidarity with Stëmm vun der Strooss and initiated food distribution campaigns.
Hélène Tomezak, an employee of EY Luxembourg, made sure that Stëmm was supplied with ready-made meals on several days. These only had to be heated in the in-house oven. This action relieved the kitchen staff of the employment initiative enormously. In total, the restaurants of Stëmm vun der Strooss in Luxembourg and Esch/Alzette were supplied 4 times during the month of May with 280 free meals. This solidarity action will continue throughout the month of June.
The restaurants of Stëmm 7, rue de la Fonderie in Hollerich and 32, Grand Rue in Esch-sur-Azette have been open from Monday to Friday from 11h30 to 15h00 from 16 March. Meals are distributed free of charge in front of the door.
Since 16 March, at 7 rue de la Fonderie in the station district, social workers have completely changed their activities and along with two cooks, they alternately prepare and distribute 300 hot meals free of charge. Before confinement, this activity was mainly carried out by people benefiting from a professional reintegration programme. This gesture of solidarity from the ambassador was greatly appreciated and warmed the hearts of both the homeless and the educators and social workers.
