Press release: when one’s mind is lost in the stars

On Friday 26 November, Magali Maillot, Véronique Braunert and Fabian Beullekens, three representatives of Allen & Overy, invited a few clients of the nonprofit Stëmm vun der Strooss to lunch at a rather special place inside the law firm’s building. The less fortunate people went up to the 8th floor of the building to enjoy their meal and a 360° view of the Kirchberg district.
With a sparkle in her eyes, Sandra spoke about the Sky Lounge and confessed that she would gladly put her bedroom there. She adds: “The meal was delicious, better than the Stëmm’s!”
Given the success of this test event, Magali Maillot and Fabian Beullekens are already planning the next big step to be taken in the framework of corporate social responsibility, meaning: inviting a large number of Stëmm beneficiaries to lunch on the law firm’s gorgeous terrace, hanging between sky and earth to show them off, distract them from the issues they are facing on a daily basis, even if only for a moment.
The lunch was only the first part of this extraordinary day as Allen & Overy also handed over a €20,000 cheque to Stëmm management represented by Arnaud Watelet and Alexandra Oxacelay. The two managers explained that this donation will be allocated to the Sanem construction project.
The collaboration between Stëmm and Allen & Overy dates back to 2013. Since then, the law firm has supported the non-profit every year. For instance, Allen & Overy employees volunteer every year for the nonprofit’s Christmas party.
