BBH offers 1,250 meals and funding for the renovation of the “Kleederstuff” of the Stëmm vun der Strooss in Esch-sur-Alzette

Earlier this spring, Brown Brothers Harriman donated 1,250 meals to the social restaurants of Stëmm vun der Strooss in Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette. With this gesture, BBH employees hoped to provide relief to the social workers at Stëmm, who were behind the stoves for two months, providing daily lunch to those in need. In addition, this gesture of support has allowed visitors to Stemm to enjoy a few moments and to forget their daily worries, if only in the space of a lunch time.

On May 14th, the restaurants of Stëmm vun der Strooss were stocked with quinoa cod, 250 takeaways prepared by Maison Steffen. On May 25th, there was risotto salmon and sliced chicken, 2 x 250 takeaways prepared by Maison Steffen. May 28th: chicken wok and vegetable couscous, 2 x 250 takeaways prepared by caterer Kaempff-Kohler.

In addition to the meals, Brown Brothers Harriman donated funds which are being put to use for the renovations of the “Kleederstuff” in Esch-sur-Alzette. The renovation of this facility is a project that has developed over the years. The facility, as it currently exists, consists of donations of furniture that no longer meet the safety standards imposed. A bespoke layout will allow Stëmm to make the most of the space, improve the working conditions of staff benefiting from a reintegration measure and create a more pleasant and safe atmosphere for customers.

It wasn’t the first time Brown Brothers Harriman had supported Stëmm vun der Strooss: the Bank has been an indispensable partner for more than 10 years. In 2011, employees contributed to the restructuring of the accounting and administration department. Since 2012, the association’s traditional Christmas party has been funded in part by BBH; groups of employees have volunteered with preparations, serving and clean up. In 2013, BBH generously donated funding for the refrigerated van service for Stëmm Caddy.
