Press release: Expansion of opening hours of social restaurants

As part of the recent developments of the social restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette and in order to meet a growing demand, the catering offer has been expanded in recent weeks. In this dynamic, the social restaurant in Ettelbruck has also adapted and extended its organization.

Since January 12, 2026, the social restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette has offered breakfast every day from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The lunch service continues to be provided from 11:45 AM to 4:00 PM. And since January 24, 2026, the Esch site has taken a new step by now opening its doors seven days a week. This extension of hours ensures continuity of service throughout the week. Since February 9, 2026, the offer has been further complemented by the provision of evening meal baskets, thus reinforcing the support provided to beneficiaries beyond the on-site service hours.

Following these innovations in Esch-sur-Alzette, the social restaurant in Ettelbruck has also expanded its offer. While remaining open on weekdays from Monday to Friday with a lunch service provided from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, it has been decided to now open every second Sunday of the month from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Furthermore, every first and third Saturday of the month, breakfast is offered from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, provided by the Order of Malta.

The social restaurant in Hollerich, for its part, has maintained its usual organization with opening hours from Monday to Friday and a lunch service provided from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, as well as every second and fourth Saturday of the month from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

In addition, there is the extension of the opening hours of the Saxophone, located at 24 rue de Hollerich. For six months, the social bistro has now opened its doors earlier than before, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and free meals, such as sandwiches, soup, fruit juices, water, coffee, or even brunches, are offered. An extended opening is planned in the coming days.

These successive adaptations have made it possible to strengthen the accessibility and continuity of food aid on the different sites, ensuring an expanded presence and a more comprehensive response to the needs of the people concerned.
