The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) provide luncheon vouchers to the Stëmm vun der Strooss

The PhD students of the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History donated meal vouchers worth a total of € 5199 to the Stëmm vun der Strooss. These meal vouchers were collected by the group of PhD students in 2020. Due to the pandemic, these were not redeemed and therefore it was decided to start a collection and make a donation to the Stëmm.
The meal vouchers were handed over to Francesco Settanni, responsible for the Stëmm vun der Strooss site in Esch-sur-Alzette, on 1 April. This generous donation made it possible to organise a “Pizza Day” for disadvantaged people on 14 May, thanks to the support of the Italian restaurant La Storia in Esch-sur-Alzette, offering them a good meal. A total of 81 pizzas were delivered and so 104 people could feel as if they were in a restaurant. With the food vouchers received from C²DH, more lunches of this kind will be organised in the future.
Francesco Settanni thanks the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History and the restaurant La Storia for this kind gesture, which made it possible to organise a festive event:”The kitchen team, which on that day only prepared the salad, was able to mobilise all its energy for the distribution of the pizzas, which made this moment very convivial.”
