Press release: Degroof Petercam Luxembourg hand in hand with the Stëmm

...

On Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 September, around 20 volunteers from Degroof Petercam Luxembourg helped out at two Stëmm vun der Strooss facilities, the vocational rehabilitation workshop Caddy in Sanem and the new social restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette on the occasion of its inauguration.

It is not the first time that the non-profit association can count on the support of Degroof Petercam, as it had already made a significant contribution to the financing of the heated pergola of the social restaurant in Hollerich and, more recently, to the financing of the new social restaurant in Ettelbruck at 47 Rue Prince Henri.

A group of five people spent the day at the Caddy workshop. After an introduction to the premises, an icebreaker game was led to create a bond between the different participants. A presentation on Syria was then facilitated by a worker from the logistics department.

An Egyptian speciality, "Koshari", was prepared for lunch. In the afternoon, a worker had the opportunity to talk to the volunteers about his beautiful home country, Eritrea.

Afterwards, the volunteers actively participated in the smooth running of the kitchen service. In this way, they got to know the work that is done in the workshop in more detail. All participants finally took stock of their day and were very satisfied.

A few kilometres away, another group of 15 volunteers took part in the inauguration of the Stëmm's new social restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette, now located at 112 rue du Canal. This restaurant is temporary as the non-profit association will move into a larger space in 2026, which is still on Rue du Canal.

They helped to set up, decorate and clean the tables, and served at table, much to the delight of the underprivileged guests.

The association is proud to be able to count on such committed partners and would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the employees of Degroof Petercam Luxembourg.
