Press release: A promise fulfilled…

The law firm Allen & Overy has once again offered a joyful experience to some clients of the Stëmm vun der Strooss. After donating sleeping bags and new work jackets to the non-profit organisation earlier this year, Allen & Overy representatives Magali Maillot, Véronique Braunert and Fabian Beullekens invited the clients to a three-course meal.

At the beginning of the year, Magali Maillot and Fabian Beullekens expressed the wish to invite the Stëmm’s clients to lunch at Allen & Overy’s premises, on the 8th floor terrace overlooking the entire plateau of the European institutions. Naturally, Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm, was very enthusiastic about the idea and so on 15 July, a group of Stëmm social workers accompanied around 65 people to Kirchberg.

There, they enjoyed a delicious lunch, the hospitality of the Allen & Overy representatives and of course the spectacular setting, which is of course not usual for the Stëmm’s clients. As Charles Bechet, graduate educator and site manager of the Stëmm vun der Strooss in Hollerich, tells us: “It is really incredible to see how the Allen & Overy staff kindly welcomed our clients and how much effort they put into doing something good for these people. For them, it is extraordinary to be able to eat in such a beautiful atmosphere and forget their problems for an afternoon”.

Each participant received a sanitary kit with hygiene products comprising bath towels, a toothbrush, pads, among many others.

The close relationship between the Stëmm and Allen & Overy dates back to 2013, and over the years the law firm has supported the association in many ways, whether through financial donations, collections of food and hygiene items, or through their presence as volunteers at the Stëmm’s traditional Christmas party.
