Press release: The Stëmm celebrates Halloween to make those “forgotten by everyone” forget their everyday life

...

Halloween is a great opportunity to let people who are "forgotten by everyone" forget their everyday life.

For this reason, on Tuesday October 31st the social restaurants in Ettelbruck at 47, rue Prince Henri, in Esch-sur-Alzette at 112, rue du Canal, in Hollerich at 7, rue de la Fonderie and in Saxo at 24, rue de Hollerich offered orange cocktails, vampiric games and gruesomely delicious sweets, all in a setting where witches, skeletons and ghosts of all kinds took over the premises for a few hours. The same goes for the social restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette at 112 rue du Canal.

Creating such an atmosphere obviously involves costs and, as in previous years, it was thanks to the donation of gift vouchers by employees of POST Luxembourg that the teams from the various Stëmm sites were able to treat the beneficiaries.

André, who has been working for 12 years as a pastry chef in the Stëmm's various kitchens, was specially transferred from the Caddy to Hollerich to bake cakes in the shape of a skull.

"We dress up, joke, laugh and above all we don't take ourselves too seriously, that's what our customers like. And when our clients are happy, they come back, which gives us the opportunity to work with them to improve their situation, which is often disastrous," emphasises the director of the Stëmm, Alexandra Oxacelay and points out that "over the last 8 years, the number of meals served per day in social restaurants has increased by 81.5% (from 68,065 in 2014 to 123,516 in 2022). The number of customers has even increased by 150.7% (from 2,781 in 2014 to 6,972 in 2022)".
